The Experience of Accepting the Judgment and Punishment of the Word of God

1. Leaving God’s Word Means Losing Everything

Because of the needs of the work of God’s family, I was transferred to a new place to perform my duty. When I first came here, faced with the difficulties in the work, I was full of confidence, sought actively in God’s word, and was willing to accept God’s great commission to me. But after I formally started to work, I spent less time than before in eating and drinking God’s word, in praying, and in seeking, and I seldom could eat and drink God’s word with a single and quiet heart. At such times, I always gave in to myself by thinking that I was busy. Before I realized it, one month had passed. I not only made no progress in my entering-in, but I even regressed. Gradually I became less fervent in my resolution, ideal, and pursuit. And my situation became abnormal: Sometimes I succumbed to the forces of darkness, sometimes I lived in a passive state, sometimes I was swamped with the surrounding difficulties, sometimes I felt especially frail and had no strength, as if I would be crushed….

One morning, I read these words of God: “Man, while believing in God, cannot leave God’s word, cannot leave God, and cannot leave the truth. You must choose the right way, spend effort on the truth and on the word of God….” “Without the word of God in your heart, how can you have God? If you believe in God but without God, without God’s word, and without God’s guidance in your heart, then you are through.” God’s words inspired me and I realized that I fell into such a state because I had left the word of God. I felt enlightened all at once as if the dense fog was dispelled and I saw the blue sky, and I regained strength within. Then I turned to the man’s fellowship and read these words: “Performing duty is a matter of being quiet and living in the presence of God. It is not to do things behind God’s back; it is to keep a quiet heart while doing things and to be calm while being busy. No matter what one is doing, he should seek God and draw near to God in his heart. This is the normal state of a person who fears God. … No matter what one does and what kind of duty he performs, it won’t do if he doesn’t read God’s word, and it won’t do if he doesn’t pray and draw near to God. … In belief in God, reading the word of God decides everything. The word of God is the lifeblood and one must read it every day. Without reading the word of God, anyone will wither and become darkened even if he has a foundation in belief in God. If one really leaves the word of God, he will die….” After reading these words, I was completely awakened and realized that I was too arrogant in my actions and deeds. I ran and labored for the work only with my two hands and two legs, and I did not put God’s word first or have God in my heart. As I had no God in my heart and no truth in my life, how could I be in a good state? My being exposed this time is just God’s salvation for me, and I have deeply realized how important God’s word is to man and its value and significance are beyond expression in words. Although in the past I often said that God’s word decides everything, yet I had little true knowledge of that. Now I have seen that if a person leaves the word of God, he will become a walking corpse, have no human life, fall into complete darkness, and incur disasters. I have seen the serious consequence of leaving the word of God—death! I am grateful to God for saving me in time. I stumbled because of not reading God’s word and I will rise up again. In my future work and life, I will take God’s word as the foundation, seek God’s mind, act according to God’s word, and try to meet God’s requirements.
